Ahead of Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup campaign in USA and West Indies, Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib exuded confidence saying they can beat any team if they want.

The pacer, who will be playing his first T20 World Cup, said that all they needed to win was to perform as a team.

‘I’m very confident with our team. Our team is mentally very strong and we have a strong bonding. If we want, we can beat any team,’ Sakib said in a video published by the Bangladesh Cricket Board as part of their ‘Green Red Story’ series ahead of the World Cup.

‘If all the players can give their best on the field, then no team can match us. We have the ability to beat any of them.’

Sakib was part of the team in the 2023 ODI World Cup and has played seven ODIs and six T20Is for the Tigers so far.

He was also part of the Under-19 World Cup-winning Bangladesh team, and Sakib said that since then, he believed he could cut it at the international level.

‘I had the goal of playing international cricket since my U-19 days. I never doubted myself about being able to cut it at that level. I have prepared myself that way,’ he said.

Bangladesh will begin their World Cup journey on June 7 in Dallas as they will take on Sri Lanka.
