Defending champions Bangladesh stormed into the semi-finals of the 12-nation Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament after beating Poland by 79-28 points with seven lonas in their Pool A match at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday.
On their way to their fourth straight win, Bangladesh dominated the first half of the game by 38-15 points with three lonas.
Host team captain Arduzzaman Munshi stole the show by scoring the highest 25 points, and later he was adjudged player of the match.
Bangladesh, winners of the previous three tournaments, defeated Indonesia 59-19, Malaysia 73-22, and South Korea by 67-22 in their last three matches.
The hosts will now take on Nepal in their final pool match today.
‘We all try to give our best in every match. This time, our team combination is better than the other opponents. If everyone in the team remains fit, we can continue this kind of performance and become champions,’ Arduzzaman told the media after the match.Â
