A two-day event titled ‘Construct Carnival 1.0’ began at the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology on Thursday, said a press release.
About 300 researchers and students from various universities, including RUET, BUET, DUET, IUT and others are participating in the event.
The university’s building engineering and construction management department organised a colourful rally on campus marking the event, which was inaugurated by the RUET vice-chancellor Md Jahangir Alam.
After the rally, an inaugural ceremony was held where the vice-chancellor was present as chief guest.
Director general of Bangladesh Water Development Board Muhammad Amirul Haque Bhuiyan, Housing and Building Research Institute director general Md Ashraful Alam, River Research Institute director Pintu Kanungoe, civil engineering faculty dean Professor Md Kumruzzaman Ripon and deans of various faculties, heads of departments and others were present at the discussion, which was presided over by the BECM department head professor Md Robiul Awall.
The event is featuring various competitive events, including workshop, cad contest, idea contest, poster presentation, smart management maestro, archie capture and others.
The carnival will end today.
