At least seven people were killed and three others injured in road accidents in Brahmanbaria, Gazipur, Magura, and Dhaka districts between Thursday night and Friday.

抖阴精品 correspondent in Brahmanbaria reported that two people were killed and three others injured when a pickup van rammed their CNG-run auto-rickshaw at about 11:00am on Friday in Ghatur area of Suhilpur union on the Cumilla-Sylhet highway.


The deceased are Mithun Miah, 28, and Shamsu Miha, residents of village Chandiara under Bhudal union of Brahmanbaria sadar upazila.

The injured are Ikram, 10, auto rickshaw driver Emran, 28 and Monir 30. They were admitted to Brahmanbaria general hospital.

Khatihata highway police station in-charge Md Sarwar said that a pickup van, coming from the opposite direction, rammed the auto-rickshaw, killing two passengers on the spot.

Bangladesh Sangbad Sanstha reported that a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a private car on the Barmi-Gafargaon regional road in Islam Market area of Sripur upazila in Gazipur on Friday.

The deceased Mahmuduzzaman Limon, 22, a resident of Bapta village in the upazila, was seriously injured in the accident, which occurred at about 1:00pm.

Sripur police station sub-inspector Abu Raihan said that Limon was taken to the upazila health complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

United News of Bangladesh reported that two people died in separate road accidents in Magura on Friday.

The victims are Subrato Malo, 49, and Rayad Sheikh, 35.

Magura police station OC Mehedi Hasan said that the first accident occurred at about 9:00am when a Nosimon, locally made human hauler, collided with a passenger bus in front of Gangarampur secondary school on the Narail-Magura road, leaving Nosimon driver Subrato injured.

Subrato died on the way to the 250-bed hospital, he added.

In the second incident, a van driver died on the spot when his van collided with a speedy truck on the Magura-Jhenaidah road.

Magura Ramnagar highway police station OC Gautam Chandra Biswas said that cases had been filed with the Magura police station for both incidents.

BSS also reported that two motorcyclists were killed when a speedy truck hit their vehicle from behind as it was moving towards the Savar Bazar bus-stand area on the Dhaka-Aricha highway Thursday night.

The deceased are Nayeem, 30, and Jubayer, 32, residents of Savar Bank Colony.

According to the OC of Savar model police station, Nayeem died on the spot, while Jubayer was rushed to Enam medical college hospital, where he died to his injuries.
