A teenage tourist drowned in Blue Water Lake near the White Clay Hills tourist spot at Bijoypur frontier area of Durgapur upazila in Netrakona on Sunday.
Police said that the victim is Sumon Mia, 22, son of Shafiqul Islam, of Ghorghoria village of Sripur upazila of Gazipur.
The incident took place while Sumon, accompanied by his family members, went to the White Clay Hills area to see the natural sceneries from Gazipur and he drowned in the Blue Water Lake while bathing there.
Later, local people recovered his body from the lake after conducting an hour-long rescue operation, officer-in-charge of the Durgapur police station Uttam Chandra Deb said.
