The authorities of Savanna Eco Resort and Natural Park in Gopalganj, owned by former inspector general of police, Benazir Ahmed, and his family, announced on Monday that the operations of the Eco Resort would remain closed from Monday until further notice.

Md Sabbir, booking manager of Savanna Eco Resort, said that they took the decision to keep the resort closed from Monday until further notice as no visitors would be able to visit the resort during the closure time.

Sabbir said that the visitors could not enter the park due to a problem on the park鈥檚 server, as the park had been declared closed for a few days.

Benazir established the Savanna eco-resort under Sadar Upazila in Gopalganj. His wife, Jissan Mirza, is the chairman of Savnna Eco Resort Private Ltd.

The Anti-Corruption Commission summoned Benazir to appear before the commission on June 6 and his wife and daughters on June 9.

But, Benazir is reportedly now staying abroad along with his family members.

On May 26, a Dhaka court ordered the seizure of assets, including four flats registered in 119 deeds in the name of Benazir and his family members, to facilitate a proper investigation into graft allegations against them.

On May 23, the same court also ordered to freeze 33 financial accounts, including the 27 bank accounts of Benazir and his family members, while also attaching their properties under 83 deeds.

On April 18, the ACC decided to carry out an inquiry against Benazir and his family members for their allegedly illegal wealth.
