
Bangladesh Sustainable Development, an NGO, organised Tree Plantation Programme-2024 at Ganabhaban Government High School in Dhaka at 9:00am on Wednesday marking World Environment Day.
In that program, headmaster Sultana Jahan, agriculture teacher Khurshid Alam and the students of the school planted 100 trees of fruit, medicine, wood and flowers.
Dhaka University students Abu Sayed Sohel and Razia Sultana were also present there to support this programme, said a press release.
Later at 10:30am, Faculty of Social Science dean Professor Rasheda Irshad Nasir inaugurated the tree planting program at the Dhaka University premise with the support from Bangladesh Sustainable Development.
Sociology professor M Anwar Hossen, President of BSD, and Md Mahbub Hasan, founder and executive director of BSD, were present on the occasion.
Bangladesh Sustainable Development organised another Tree Plantation Programme at Tejgaon Government High School at 3:00pm.
Headmaster Shahrin Khan Rupa and other teachers and students of the institution participated in this nature-friendly programme.
Professor Rasheda Irshad Nasir, Headmaster Sultana Jahan and Headmaster Shahrin Khan Rupa thanked Bangladesh Sustainable Development for its reforestation and temperature reduction programme in the capital.
