
A workshop titled ‘Physical risks due to noise pollution and way forward to check the pollution’ was held in the conference room of the Rajshahi divisional commissioner’s office on Saturday.
On behalf of its ‘Integrated and partnership project on noise pollution control’, environment department organised the workshop, said a press release.
Commissioner of Rajshahi division Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir addressed the workshop as chief guest.
During his keynote presentation, training and campaign specialist Gazi Mohibur Rahman gave an overview of the project along with its aims, objectives and implementation strategy.
Additional deputy commissioner of traffic department Helena Akter, director of Rajshahi division of Islamic Foundation Md Anisuzzaman Sikder, ear, nose and throat specialist Md Asadur Rahman, Rajshahi metropolitan police representative DC (CTTC) Sarker Omar Farooq, superintendent of police (operation) of Rajshahi DIG office Mohammad Monirul Islam, and Rajshahi divisional commissioner office local government director Parvez Raihan, among others, spoke at the event.
Deputy director of environment department Rajshahi divisional office Mahmuda Khanam delivered welcome speech at the workshop, which was presided over by additional divisional commissioner (general) of Rajshahi Tarfdar Md Akhter Jameel.
