
Doctors of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University will be able to participate in fellowship training in Japan every year and all expenses will be borne by Japan-Bangladesh Medical Association.
Japan-Bangladesh Medical Association signed MoU with the BSMMU in this regard at the university on Saturday, said a press release.
Health and family welfare minister Samanta Lal Sen was present as chief guest and Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh IWAMA Kiminori was present as special guest at the MoU signing ceremony, which was presided over by the BSMMU vice-chancellor Professor Deen Mohd. Noorul Huq.
Specialist doctors will get the opportunity of attending higher fellowship training lasting between three and six months in Japan.
The BSMMU pro-vice-chancellor, academic, Professor Mohammed Atiqur Rahman; pro-vice-chancellor, research and development, Professor Md Moniruzzaman Khan; registrar Professor A B M Abdul Hannan; medicine faculty dean Professor Abu Nasir Rizvi; proctor Md Habibur Rahman; JBMA general secretary, Bangladesh office, Sheikh Aleemuzzaman and others were present at the programme.
