Visual artist, researcher and art educator Sumon Wahed conducted a lecture workshop titled ‘New Media Art’ at the Seminar Hall of the National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Monday.
The workshop, which was organised by the BSA, aimed at inspiring youths to pursue new media art. Fifty four participants, comprising students of the fine arts department of different universities, young filmmakers, theatre activists and photographers, attended the workshop.
‘New media art is not more than 60 years old but it has become popular worldwide because it is a technology-based art medium. It is being used in different social movements, political activities and awareness campaigns in different countries,’ said Sumon Wahed.Â
