Bangladesh will be looking to end on a high when they take on upper-ranked Lebanon in their final Group I FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup 2027 joint qualifiers round-2 match at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar, today.

The match is scheduled to begin at 10:00pm Bangladesh Standard Time and T Sports will televise the game live.

With Australia and Palestine having confirmed their next round berths, the match between Lebanon and Bangladesh will determine who finishes third and fourth in the group. However, if Javier Cabrera’s charges win today, they will finish ahead of Lebanon.

Bangladesh are currently lying at the bottom of the table with one point, which they earned after a 1-1 draw against Lebanon in Dhaka in November 2023.

They lost 0-7 and 0-2 to Australia and 0-5 and 0-1 against Palestine in their other four games.

On the other hand, Lebanon (120th), who are 64 places ahead of Bangladesh (184th) in the current FIFA rankings, have three points from five games with three draws and two losses.

They played goalless draws in both legs against Palestine while conceding 0-2 and 0-5 goals defeats to Australia in their other games.

‘We want to get a positive result tomorrow [Tuesday] with the objectives of fighting for everything, fighting for three points, and hopefully at least achieving one point. We came here with the back of a good performance against Australia. Completing the group stage with a win will be great,’ said Cabrera through a BFF video message from Qatar on Monday.

‘We are confident that we can get something. We know if we get points, we can upgrade a little bit with the rankings, and that will have a very positive impact in future competition. So, it’s important to earn points for the group stage for the Asian Cup qualifiers.’

In the other group I match of the day, Australia and Palestine will face off at the Perth Rectangular Stadium in Australia.
