A Rohingya youth was allegedly killed in a shootout between two groups of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army and police in a Rohingya camp of Ukhia upazila in Cox鈥檚 Bazar on Wednesday morning.

The deceased is Abdul Monaf, 26, son of Azim Ullah, a resident of Block A-4 of Rohingya Camp 19 in the Ghonar Para area of Ukhia upazila.


The incident took place in the A-4 block of the Rohingya camp 19 in Ukhia.

Amir Zafar, commander of 8 Armed Police Battalion confirmed the matter to 抖阴精品.

He said that the shooting took place in the A-4 block of the Rohingya camp 19 between two groups of the ARSA.

On information, a team of the APBn reached the spot and the miscreants started firing at the police, he said, adding that the police also shot back at them that triggered a gunfight.

At one point, the ARSA groups fled the scene, leaving one of their members, who suffered bullet wounds, on the spot, the official said.

He said that a foreign pistol was recovered from the spot.

The injured person was taken to Ukhia Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty pronounced him dead, Zafar said.

The body of the deceased has been sent to the Cox鈥檚 Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

A legal process is underway in this regard, said the official.
