
A 10-foot long bottlenose dolphin was found washed up at the Kuakata beach in Patuakhali on Friday.
Members of the Dolphin Conservation Committee spotted the dolphin on the eastern side of the beach near zero point.
Abul Hossain Raju, a member of the committee, said that he came to see the dolphin coming to the shore with having signs of injuries on its body.聽 The crowd who gathered to catch a glimpse of the dolphin informed the forest department.
Ruman Imtiaz Tushar, team leader of the Kuakata Dolphin Protection Committee, said that members of the committee with the help of the Forest Department made arrangements to bury the dolphin.
Abul Kalam Azad, Mahipur range officer of the Forest Department, said that they sent members of the department to take steps so that the stench did not spread.
