Singer TW Sainik said that most of the singers preferred to release songs on their private YouTube channels.
‘We grew up seeing people celebrating festivals with films, dramas and music albums. However, times have changed. Most singers release songs on their own YouTube channels. Therefore, a singer can release his/her songs anytime. Some release songs targeting the festival,’ said TW Sainik, who is looking forward to releasing four songs after Eid-ul-Azha.
Singer Fatema Jahangir Julee said that access to unlimited music on online platforms was playing a role in changing the listening habits of music lovers.
‘I grew up buying albums, cassettes and CDs during Eid celebrations. But, people can listen to unlimited music on online platforms. Music lovers can listen to songs recorded by singers from different countries online. Therefore, our listening habits are gradually changing. People no longer wait for Eid to listen to new songs,’ said Julee, who plans to release a duet with Balam soon.
