Two people were killed in the incidents of electrocution and lightning strike in separate upazilas of Chattogram district on Tuesday.
Sajib Uddin, 21, son of Fazal Kadir of Banshkhali upazila and a second-year student of Ashekane Awliya Degree College, was killed by a lightning strike.聽
Banshkhali Police Station sub-inspector M Kamal said that Sajib was injured during a thunderstorm around midnight while returning home in heavy rain at Baharchara Union under Banshkhali upazila.
He was rushed to upazila health complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
In another incident, Salauddin Tasin, 15, was electrocuted when he went to collect cricket ball from backyard of his house at Samitirhat under Fatikchhari upazila.
He was a Class X student at Samitirhat High School.
Fatikchari Police Station officer-in-charge Nurul Huda said that Salauddin was rushed to the upazila health complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead.聽聽
