
The education ministry has taken the decision of shortening the summer holidays by a week at the junior secondary and secondary level educational institutes across Bangladesh to reduce learning gap.
The ongoing summer holidays at the institutes were till July 2 as per the earlier decision, which will be now till June 25.
The primary and mass education ministry secretary Farid Ahmed told 抖阴精品 on Thursday that they did not take any decision of shortening the summer holidays at the primary level educational institutes.
A circular issued by the education ministry on Thursday read that, due to winter, heatwave and
other reasons, the classroom activities were obstructed and caused learning gap.
This is why, the summer holydays have been shortened to June 25 and classroom activities will resume on June 26, it read.
It also read that as per a circular issued on April 25, the classroom activities would remain closed on Saturdays.
However, for the half-yearly assessment, if any assessment falls on any Saturday then it can be held on the day.
