Bangladesh men鈥檚 U-21 team stormed into the semi-finals of the Junior AHF Cup with a crushing 7-0 win over Indonesia in their final Pool A match at the Seng Kang Sports Centre in Singapore on Thursday.

With four successive wins, Bangladesh sit at the top of the five-team table with 12 points and set their last-four clash against Pool B runners-up Chinese Taipei to be held on Saturday.聽


The second semi-final will be played between the Pool A runners-up Thailand and the six-team Pool B champions China, who earned all-win 15 points from five games.

Thailand earned nine points from four games to place Pool A runners-up while Chinese Taipei secured 12 points from five games to place second in Pool B.

Bangladesh earlier defeated Thailand 4-2, Sri Lanka 5-0 and hosts Singapore 7-0 in their other three games.

Bangladesh hit 19 goals to their opponent nets while conceded only two goals and Amirul Islam scored the most seven goals to become the top scorer at the end of pool-stage matches of the tournament.

In the day鈥檚 play, Md Abdullah (third, 54th) scored two field goals while Mehrab Hasan Samin (seventh) and Amirul Islam (ninth) scored once each from penalty corners.

Din Islam (13th), Md Jibon (32nd) and Md Islam (60th) scored the other goals to extend the winning margin for Bangladesh.

All the semi-finalists of this tournament have secured their places for the forthcoming Men鈥檚 Hockey Junior Asia Cup.
