Mobile courts, conducted by the Dhaka South City Corporation, on Sunday fined the owners of six buildings Tk 20,000 after finding Aedes mosquito breeding grounds on their premises.

The city corporation mobile courts visited 204 houses and under-construction buildings in different areas of Dhaka, according to a DSCC press release.


The drives were conducted in Tilpapara, Nandipara, Khilgaon, Purba Rasulpur, Kamrangirchar, Jurain, Uttar and Dhakshin Manda, Green Model Town, around Bright School, the alley of Sarai Mosque, and Dania areas.

The city corporation collected the fines in six cases.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 41 people have died of dengue, and 3,343 people have been admitted to hospitals this year as of June 22.
