Former general secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD Abdul Malek Ratan died on Monday morning at a private hospital in Dhaka.
He was 65.
He was suffering from kidney diseases.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
Bangladesh JSD president Sharif Nurul Ambia and general secretary Nazmul Haque Prodhan in a condolence message said that former student leader and former general secretary Abdul Malek Ratan died at a Dhaka city hospital at 10:00am after suffering from kidney diseases.
Socialist Party of Bangladesh general secretary Bazlur Rashid Firoz in a condolence message expressed deep shock at the death of Malek Ratan.
His body was kept in the mortuary of Birdem General Hospital and buried in Azimpur graveyard after returning of his daughter from abroad, family sources said.
