Three people were killed and another was injured in lightning in Narail Sadar upazila on midnight past Sunday.
The deceased are Ratan Roy of Monirampur upazila in Jashore, Milton Roy of Nijgram in Khulna and Nanda Dali of Tala upazila Satkhira.
The injured, Chitto Malo, is now undergoing treatment at a hospital in Narail.
Prodip Kumar Biswas, member of Kalora union parisahd of聽 Sadar upazila, quoting locals, said that the victims left their houses 25 days ago for grazing pigs and arrived in the Sadar upazila three days back after visiting different areas.
The lightning struck them midnight past Sunday amid rainfall, leaving three people dead on the spot, he said.
Locals spotted the bodies lying on the ground and another suffering from pain in the morning, the UP member said.
Sadar police station officer-in-charge (investigation) Sajedur Rahman confirmed the matter saying that the bodies were sent to the Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
The bodies will be handed over to the families after completing legal procedures, he added.
