Bangladesh’s fastest man Imranur Rahman will be participating in the 100-metre sprint event at the 2024 Paris Olympics after receiving a wildcard entry on Monday.

The development was confirmed to ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· by Bangladesh Athletics Federation General Secretary Abdur Rakib.

‘We received an email today from the World Athletics Federation that said that Imranur received the wildcard,’ he told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ·.

Imranur became the third Bangladeshi to book his place in the finals after archer Sagor Islam qualified directly for the tournament and shooter Rabiul Islam received a wildcard entry.

He will join the Bangladesh contingent in Paris from England, where he currently resides.

Imranur currently holds the record of being the fastest in Bangladesh in the 100-metre sprint with 10.29 seconds, which he achieved in 2022.

The Olympics, hailed as the greatest show on earth, will begin on July 26 and end on August 11.
