
Senate meeting was for the first time on Saturday at聽Rabindra University, Bangladesh held senate meeting for the first time at the university鈥檚 academic building-3 at Shahzadpur upazila of Sirajganj on Saturday.
Vice-chancellor of the university and senate president professor Md Shah Azam presided over the meeting, said a press release.
Professor Shah Azam said that though the university started its activities eight years ago, the senate session was being held for the first time. This was a milestone for the university.
VC Shah Azam also briefed the senators about the programmes and plans, undertaken by him after assuming office. He presented various proposals to the senators while they gave their valuable feedback and guidance.
The meeting approved the budget of Tk 18 crore with 12 rules and regulations.
The meeting was attended by the vice-chancellor of Pabna University of Science and Technology Hafiza Khatun, member of University Grants Commission professor Biswajit Chanda, additional secretary (planning and development) of the ministry of cultural affairs Imrul Chowdhury, joint secretary (audit and law) of the ministry of education Mukesh Chandra Biswas, associate professor of Bengali department of Rabindra University Md Fakhrul Islam, assistant professors of sociology department Mohammad Tanveer Ahmed and Md Rifat-ur-Rahman, assistant professors of economics department Barun Chandra Roy and Sharmin Sultana. Registrar of the university professor Feroz Ahmad served as the member secretary of the senate.
