Theatre troupe Theatre Factory staged the 39th show of its maiden production titled Asharashya Pratham Dibase at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Tuesday.
The play, a Bangla translation of Mohan Rakesh鈥檚 Hindi play titled Ashadh Ka Ek Din, has been directed by Alok Basu.
鈥楢sharashya Pratham Dibase鈥� revolves around the love story between legendary poet Kalidas and a young girl named Mallika.
Young Kalidas is not popular as a poet. Mallika encourages and helps him to become a royal poet despite various adversities. He establishes himself as a royal poet and gains popularity.
At one point, various complications and tragedies arise in the relationship between Kalidas and Mallika, and the play moves forward.
Ramiz Raju, Shamsun Nahar Beauty, Hasanuzzaman Khan, Sonjita Sharmin and others played different characters in the play.
