Twenty-two people have been recognised as Agriculturally Important Person-2021 for their contribution in the country鈥檚 agriculture sector.
They will receive awards under five categories, and they will enjoy the same benefits as the commercially important persons for one year, said an agriculture ministry press release on Friday.
Channel i managing director Shykh Seraj, Tilottama founder Sahela Abedin and Dandiya CIG Women鈥檚 Cooperative Society president Shikha Rani Chakraborty have been selected in 鈥榓gricultural organisations recognised or registered by the government鈥� category.
AKM Fareyzul Haque Ansarey, MA Matin, Oli Ullah and Swapan Kumar Das have been selected in 鈥榓gricultural innovation varieties/technology category鈥�.
Besides, 10 are named in 鈥榓gricultural production/commercial farm establishment and agro-processing industry鈥� category while two are named in 鈥榩roduction of exportable agricultural products鈥� and three in 鈥楤angabandhu national agriculture award鈥� category for their contributions in agriculture sector.
The prizes will be handed over to the awardees at an award ceremony on Sunday.
