Rifat Garments Limited has received Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Export Trophy, the highest recognition in the export award, for the highest export earnings in the 2021-22 financial year among all sectors, according to a press release.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina as chief guest handed over the award to Ha-Meem Group director Sajid Azad in an event at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital Dhaka on Sunday.
The winning exporters received gold, silver and bronze awards. Some 28 firms were conferred gold awards, 27 silver and the rest 21 bronze awards.
State minister for commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu and the ministry's Parliamentary Standing Committee chairman Tipu Munshi, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Apparel Gallery received a silver trophy in the woven readymade garment category and Ha-Meem Denim Textiles also received silver in the fabrics category, the release said.
