Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University neuro surgery department professor and dean of the faculty Mohammad Hossain has elected president and Professor Shafiqul Islam as general secretary of the Bangladesh Society of Neurosurgeons for the term of 2024-26.
Chief election commissioner Professor M Afzal Hossain declared the new committee after an election held at the BSMMU鈥檚 neuro surgery department lecture hall, said a press release on Sunday.
Other office bearers are senior vice-president Professor Dhiman Chowdhury, vice-president Professor Shafiul Alam, treasurer Atikur Rahman, joint secretary Mansur Ahmed, scientific secretary Rokibul Islam, and press and publication secretary Ahsan Mohammad Hafiz.
The five members of the executive committee are Raziul Haque, Mainul Haque Sarker, Soumitra Sarker, Rabiul Karim and Mohammad Nazrul Hossain.
Mohammad Hossain re-elected president defeating Professor Kanak Kanti Barua, former vice-chancellor of the BSMMU.
