The National Museum of Science and Technology director general, Muhammad Munir Chowdhury, at a seminar said that there was no substitute to a scientific diet for good health.

The seminar, titled Scientific Food Habits and Good Health, was organised at the museum on Monday, said a press release.


‘Many harmful waste materials are used in vegetable or fish production, which are causing serious health risks.

Vegetables should be soaked in water for at least an hour before cooking to avoid the effects of pesticides,’ said Munir Chowdhury.

It is healthy to eat vegetables with peels like gourd, banana and papaya to protect health, the DG added.

Senior curator of the museum Sukallyan Bachar, chief display officer Md Khaybar Rahman and curator Masudur Rahman also spoke in the seminar, which was attended by the NMST officers and employees.
