
Bangladesh Garment Sramik Samhati in a statement on Wednesday called on the Awami League government to ensure safety and security of the garment workers as apparel factories were open countrywide.
Condemning the atrocities of the law enforcers to control the quota protesters’ peaceful movements, which killed at least 163 peoples across the country, the Garment Sramik Samhati said that a garment worker, Shubha Shil, was killed in Savar.
On July 19, cadres of the ruling party student front Chhatra League attacked on Ganosamhati Andolan chief coordinator Zonayed Saki at the Dhaka Community Hospital when he went there for treatment after being wounded in a police attack on the procession of Ganatantra Mancha at Topkhana Road, the Sramik Samhati alleged.
The statement signed by the president of the organisation Taslima Akhter and vice-president Anjan Das, they also called on the government to stop arrest of the opposition leaders.
