Communist Party of Bangladesh on Monday demanded fresh general elections for atrocities of the Awami League government to control peaceful movement of the students for quota reformation in government jobs.

In a press statement, president of the party Mohammad Shah Alam and general secretary Ruhin Prince condemned the atrocities of the law enforcers in the name of controlling students’ movement.

The atrocities of the government had created a political crisis and it was not possible to ensure peaceful atmosphere in the country without resolving the crisis politically, the party leaders said.

They called on the people to continue their movement to establish their democratic rights.
