Bangladesh Bank has instructed banks in the country to keep their branches open from 10:00am to 3:00pm in accordance with the reduced curfew hours.

Md Mezbaul Haque, executive director and spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank, informed UNB that scheduled banks will follow this office schedule on July 28, 29, and 30, aligning with government office timings.

However, branches of banks will close by 3:30pm after completing their ancillary office work.

In the past week, banks were open on Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00am to 3:00pm during the relaxed curfew period. People thronged banks, which reopened following a three-day closure due to the nationwide curfew.

Internet services were disrupted for five consecutive days amid unrest centring around student protests for quota reforms in public services.
