Leaders of the Ganatantra Mancha at a press conference on Thursday demanded that the Awami League government had no right to remain in power, and they should resign from the power taking the liability of killing more than 200 students and people in the student movements for reforming quotas.

The combine of six political parties organised the press conference at the central office of the Nagarik Oikya at Topkhana Road in the capital.


Nagarik Oikya president and coordinator of the combine, Mahmudur Rahman Manna, said that those days were not far away that the Awami League government would compel to resign from the power facing movements of the students and opposition parties.聽

The leaders and activists of the AL are divided over controlling the movements of the students applying forces, said the Revolutionary Workers Party general secretary Saiful Huq.

The Ganosamhati Andolan chief coordinator Zonayed Saki said that the Awami League government must resign from the power immediately and until it happened, the Mancha and opposition parties would continue movements.

Bhashani Onusari Parishad convener Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, Rastra Sanskar Andolan chief coordinator Hasnat Quaiyum and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD general secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmod Shapon also spoke at the press conference.
