
Leaders of the Ganatantra Mancha, a combine of six political parties, on Saturday called people from all walks of life to join in the ongoing movement of the students.
Extending full support to the movement of the students demanding reforms of the quota system in government jobs, coordinator of the combine and president of Nagarik Oikya Mahmudur Rahman Manna at a press conference at party鈥檚 central office on Topkhana Road made the call.
He also demanded immediate resignation of the Awami League government taking responsibility for killing more than 200 students and people in the name of controlling the movement of the students.聽聽聽聽
Revolutionary Workers Party general secretary Saiful Huq called on the government to resolve the ongoing crisis politically sending a letter of resignation to the president by the prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
Ganosamhati Andolan chief coordinator Zonayed Saki said that they would continue their movement until resignation of the Awami League government and formation of a neutral interim government.
Bhashani Onusari Parishad convener Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu said that the Awami League government was trying to control the ongoing student movement by excessive use of force committing atrocities against unarmed people, including protesting students, by law enforcers and activists of the ruling Awami League-backed Bangladesh Chhatra League and Juba League.
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD general secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmod Shapon said that the Awami League government could not avoid responsibility for killing more than 200 students and people in the name of controlling the movement of the students.
Rastra Sanakar Andolan chief coordinator Hasnat Quaiyum said that they would reform the governance system and quotas in government jobs.
