The Workers Party of Bangladesh, a partner in the Awami League-led alliance, called for resolving the ongoing student movements in the country through dialogue with the government.

Speaking at the party’s general meeting at Segunbagicha Samajik Kendra auditorium on Saturday, WP president Rashed Khan Menon urged the government to address the student crisis politically by engaging in discussions with student leaders and fulfilling their nine-point demands.

Menon also called for fair trials for the killings of students, an end to the repression of students, and adequate compensation for the families of those affected.

General secretary of the party Fazle Hossain Badsha, politburo member Nur Ahmed Bakul, and others also spoke at the meeting.
