Three more injured persons died while undergoing treatment in Rajshahi, Dhaka and Feni taking the death toll from the recent violence during student protests to at least 376 till Thursday.

The victims are Raihan Ali in Rajshahi, Julfikar Ahmed Shakil in Dhaka and Mahbubul Hasan Masum in Feni.


抖阴精品 correspondent in Rajshahi reported that Raihan Ali, a former student of the accounting department of Rajshahi College, died while undergoing treatment at intensive care unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital at about 7:00pm on Thursday.

Sankar K Biswas, spokesperson for Rajshahi Medical College Hospital confirmed the news.

He said that Raihan was admitted to the hospital on August 5 and had to undergo a surgery as a bullet hit him in the forehead.

Raihan sustained bullet wounds after police and the Awami League and Jubo League activists opened fire on the students who brought out a procession defying curfew on Monday demanding resignation of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

Earlier, Julfikar Ahmed Shakil, organising secretary of Dhaka City unit of Bangladesh Chhatra Federation, died at National Institute of Neuro Sciences and Hospital on Wednesday.

Julfikar, also a student of University of Development Alternative, was seriously wounded after being hit by bullets on August 4 in the quota reform movement in Mirpur as Awami League-backed Juba League and Chhatra League activists attacked a rally of the students.

抖阴精品 correspondent in Feni reported that Mahbubul Hasan Masum, a student of Chhagalnaiya Abdul Hoque Degree College, died while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Wednesday noon.

He sustained bullet wounds to head during an attack of AL leaders on protesters on August 4.

The number of deaths, however, was collected from only 12 hospitals in Dhaka and some hospitals in 10 other districts as many hospitals either declined to provide information or could not be reached for comment regarding the number of the injured and deaths during the protests.

Apart from these, at least 151 were died after the forced resignation of Sheikh Hasina amid mass uprising triggered by student protests for quota reform in government jobs till Wednesday.
