The pro-Bangladesh Nationalist Party Hindus on Monday held a peace rally at Shahbag in the capital.

Under the supervision of general secretary of the Dhaka District BNP, Nipun Roy Chowdhury, they held the rally titled We are Bangladeshis on the Path of Peace.

Hindu people from various districts of Dhaka division participated in the rally.

They alleged the Awami league for the recent attacks on Hindus, mentioning that the AL had long used the Hindu community as a political tool.

‘The Awami League used to seize the land of Hindus, persecutes them, and blames the opposition parties for these actions,’ said Nipun Roy Chowdhury, mentioning that the defeated AL and their accomplices had ordered to nullify the historic victory of the recent students and people’s movement.

‘But the Hindu community will not allow this to happen,’ added Nipun.

Alleging that the AL is using a segment of the Hindu people as a shield for their conspiracy, the BNP vice-chairman Nitai Roy Chowdhury said that just as Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Genghis Khan, Tikka Khan, and Yahya Khan had not returned to power, Sheikh Hasina would not return either.

‘But the defeated forces are now conspiring by using a segment of the Hindu community as a shield,’ he added.

Rumeen Farhana, the BNP’s assistant secretary for international affairs, urged the Hindu people to be very cautious of the Awami League.

The Awami League is working through various banners, including Puja Celebration Committees, to use the Hindu community for their purposes, alleged Hindu people at the rally.

‘We will identify those responsible and take organisational action against them,’ they mentioned.

The Nagarik Oikya president Mahmudur Rahman Manna, the BNP joint secretary general Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, general secretary of the Revolutionary Workers Party Saiful Haque, and Dhaka University Chhatra Dal president Ganesh Chandra Roy Saha, among others, spoke at the rally.
