Theatre activists on Monday demanded democratic reform of Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation, Bangladesh Path Natok Parishad and trial of recently resigned director general of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky’s corruption.

Bikhubdho Theatrekormigon organsied an event titled Theatrekormi Samabesh in the evening in front of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at Segun Bagicha in Dhaka.  


At the rally, Bikhubdho Theatrekormigon placed a seven-point demand for reforming theatre practice of the country which was read by Actress Sahana Rahman Sumi.

‘Liaquat Ali Lucky captured the BSA for 12 years; we demand trial of his corruption and immediate resignation from the BGTF. We also condemn those who gave speech against the discrimination free students movement during the mass uprising. We also demand democratic reform of BGTF and BPNP,’ said Mohammad Ali Haider in his welcome speech.

Bakar Bakul, Kazi Toufiqul Islam Emon, Faiz Zahir, Nahid Smrity, Kazi Roksana Ruma and Ritu Sattar also spoke at the event.

They also demand investigations against the corruption of other officials of BSA and the people who supported the killing of July during the mass uprising should offer an apology.
