The interim government has cancelled the contractual appointment of 10 secretaries or similar rank.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications to this end on Wednesday.


The officials, whose appointment has been canceled, were National Board of Revenue chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem (senior secretary), National Parliament Secretariat secretary KM Abdus Salam, Road Transport Division secretary ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority chairman Lokman Hossain Miah (senior secretary), Planning Division senior secretary Satyajit Karmaker, civil aviation and tourism secretary Md Mokammel Hossain, agriculture secretary Wahida Akter, science and technology secretary Md Ali Hossain, railways secretary Md Humayun Kabir and BIDA executive member (secretary) Md Khairul Islam.

Earlier, three secretaries from different ministries and divisions have been transferred to other positions.聽 The public administration ministry on Wednesday issued a gazette notification in this regard.

Md Mokabbir Hossain, chairman (senior secretary), Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council, has been made senior secretary to the Public Security Division of the home ministry, said the notification.

Member (secretary) of Planning Commission Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian has been transferred to the agriculture ministry, while Md Abdur Rahman Khan, secretary to the Financial Institutions Division of the finance ministry, was transferred to the Internal Resources Division and chairman, National Board of Revenue under the finance ministry, the notification added.

Meanwhile, the Security division secretary of the home ministry, Md Jahangir Alam, was sent on retirement, as he completed 25 years in service.

The government has taken the decision for the public interest, according to a notification issued by the public administration ministry on Wednesday.

Md Jahangir Alam has been sent on retirement as per the provision of the section-45 of the Public Service Act-2018, the notification said.
