The government on Wednesday cancelled contractual聽appointment of National Board of Revenue chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul聽Muneem.
Meanwhile, secretary of the Financial Institutions Division Md Abdur Rahman聽Khan has been appointed as the new chairman of the NBR.
Following the recent political changeover in the country, the officials and聽employees of the revenue board have been demanding resignation of the NBR聽chairman.聽
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification in this聽regard cancelling his appointment.
In January this year, the contractual appointment of Muneem as the NBR聽chairman and senior secretary of the Internal Resources Division was extended thrice for another two years.
