
The vice-chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Professor M Rafiqul Alam, resigned on Wednesday amid student protests.
Rafiqul Alam submitted the resignation letter to president Mohammed Shahabuddin, which was received by the CUET registrar Professor Sheikh M Humayan Kabir.
The VC mentioned personal reasons to quit the post in the letter.
Students of the CUET on Tuesday put three-point demands, including the resignation of the VC within 48 hours.
On August 8, the CUET banned student politics in the 136th syndicate meeting.
