Chief justice Syed Refaat Ahmed on Thursday formed 50 new benches of the High Court Division to hold proceedings from Sunday.聽
The benches include 26 two-judge courts and 24 single-judge courts with specific jurisdiction.
The benches were published on the Supreme Court official website.
On August 11, the chief justice after assuming his office, constituted eight High Court benches empowering a two-judge bench to hear and dispose of writ petitions, two other benches to hear and dispose of criminal matters.
The chief justice also empowered two separate benches to hear and dispose of civil matters.
He also empowered three single-member benches to hear and dispose of civil matters and criminal matters.
