The interim government has decided to prepare a white paper focusing on public finance, inflation, external balance, energy and power, private investment and employment in the country.

Centre for Policy Dialogue distinguished fellow Debapriya Bhattacharya will lead the committee that has been asked to submit its report in 90 days.

The decisions were made on Wednesday to examine the economy already hamstrung because of corruption, misappropriation of bank funds, capital flights and the market syndicate indulged by the immediate past political regime for the past one and a half decades.

The interim government led by Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus assumed power after former prime minister Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign and flee to India amid a student-led mass uprising.

According to a release by the press wing of the chief adviser鈥檚 office, the white paper is imperative to implement decisions on structural reform, capacity building of the regulatory bodies, curbing corruption, stabilising banking sector, tax reform and attracting foreign direct investment to overcome the economic stresses.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
