Three senior police officers, including two additional inspector generals of police, were sent on forced retirement on Thursday.
The officials are Md Mahabubar Rahman, additional IGP of industrial police, Dhaka, Mohammad Ali Mia, additional IGP and Joydeb Kumar Bhadra, deputy IGP of police headquarters.
The public security division of home affairs ministry issued three separate notifications signed by senior secretary Mohammad Abdul Momen in this regard.
According to the notifications, they have been sent to retirement from government service in the public interest as per the provisions of section 45 of the Public Service Act, 2018.
The police officers would be entitled to get all fringes of retirement benefits as per rules, the notifications added.
