The newly appointed vice-chancellor of the University of Dhaka, Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan, on Wednesday hoped that the academic and other activities of the university would be fully operational within a week.
He made this statement while talking to journalists in his office.
Mentioning that there has never been a situation like this before, the VC said, 鈥榃e are not waiting for a perfectly ideal situation to start. We will start as much as we can.鈥櫬�
Niaz Ahmed also said that his team was hopeful that they could start working fully within a week.
鈥榃e are trying to begin the activities of the university with the consensus of everyone. That means, starting from the residential halls to academic activities, everything is our first goal,鈥� he added, mentioning, 鈥楾here is a standstill in many parts of the university. We are trying to talk to everyone. 鈥�
This is a university for everyone, he mentioned, adding that his team had not taken over completely yet.
Earlier on Tuesday, during a view-exchange with the campus reporters on his appointment as the VC, Niaz Ahmed said that he did not belong to any political parties.
