
Leaders of the united Gano Forum on Thursday at a programme extended support to the interim government headed by Muhammad Yunus and expressed their support for implementing programmes of the government.
Gano Forum led by Dr Kamal Hossain and Gano Forum faction led by Mostafa Mohsin Montu organised the joint programme at the National Press Club to mark the 31st founding anniversary of the party where Gano Forum faction president Mostafa Mohsin Montu chaired.
Extending full support to the interim government, Gano Forum emeritus president Dr Kamal Hossain said that the government would be able to restore democratic rule in the country.
‘Our party will work for implementation of the programmes of the interim government for democratic transition’ Kamal Hossain said.
Gano Forum faction general secretary Subrata Chowdhury read out the joint declaration where he said that they would hold a national conference soon where a new untied central committee of the party would be formed.
Gano Form president SM Altaf Hossain and general secretary Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, central leader Mostaque Ahmed also spoke at the programme.
The Gano Forum was split into two on September 27, 2020.
Kamal Hossain led a faction and Mostafa Mohsin Montu and Subrata Chowdhury led another faction.
The party was formed on August 29, 1993 at a programme at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh.
