The education ministry on Saturday appointed professor AKM Reazul Hassan as the chairman of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board on deputation.
Political science professor Hassan was an officer on special duty at the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education before this appointment.
Earlier, he served as the member for the primary curriculum at the National Curriculum and Textbook Board.
A circular, issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the ministry on Saturday, also said that a professor from the Bangladesh Civil Service education cadre would be posted as the chairman until further notice.
The circular also mentioned six conditions.
The conditions are the professor will receive salaries and other allowances as per their salary scale, get allowances and other facilities as per the post, get free residence or residence allowances, he will pay for different funds and as per the government rules his job will be controlled.聽
The order will be in effect immediately, the circular added.
