
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh chairman air-vice-marshal Mohammad Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan on Friday visited the Cox’s Bazar International Airport, and on Saturday visited the Osmani International Airport, Sylhet, said a CAAB press release on Sunday.
During his visit to Cox’s Bazar International Airport, he inspected ongoing projects such as terminal building, undersea runway extension project, extended aircraft parking apron and other projects.
He said that 93 per cent of the terminal building work had already been completed and the remaining work would be completed soon. ‘By now, 83 per cent of the runway expansion work has been completed, and currently 9 thousand feet of runway is ready,’ he added.
During his visit to the Osmani International Airport, he visited the ongoing projects like the airport expansion phase-1 and peripheral security boundary wall, among others.
He emphasised on providing high quality passenger service and overall security system. He also instructed the airport officials to perform their duties with honesty and devotion.
During the visit, the members of CAAB and the officials and employees of the respective airports were present.
