The Rapid Action Battalion on Monday arrested a fugitive death row convict of Kashimpur High Security Central Jail.
The fugitive Emdadul Haque alias Gondar was arrested in the capital鈥檚 Bangshal area.
The RAB-3 senior assistant superintendent of police Md Foyzul Islam said that they were processing to handing over him to Konabari police station.
鈥楢s Kashimpur Jail authority filed a case with Konabari police station, we will hand over him to the police station, and the police will send back him to the jail through the court,鈥� he added.
On August 7, at least six inmates were killed as they attempted to flee the Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur, while 209 of them managed to escape.
Kashimpur High Security Central Jail senior jail super Abdullah Al Mamun said that they did not receive any inmates who fled from the jail so far.
