
Bangladesh鈥檚 wicketkeeper-batter Liton Das achieved his career-best ranking after his 138-run knock that led the Tigers to a six-wicket win over Pakistan in the second Test and sweep the two-match series.
According to the new rankings released by the International Cricket Council on Wednesday, Liton is now ranked 15th with 688 rating points, the most among Bangladeshi batters.
Veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim, who hammered 191 in Tigers 10-wicket victory in the first Test, is in 17th position with 675 rating points.
The historic 2-0 series victory over Pakistan also lifted Bangladesh in fourth position in the World Test Championship points table on percentage points and resulted in some major gains for their players in the latest ICC Test Rankings.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who made a crucial 78 and shared a 165-run with Liton to help Bangladesh recover from a precarious 26-6 in the second Test, has progressed 10 places to 75th among batters, while his figures of 5-61 in the first innings have helped him move from 23rd to 22nd among bowlers and up to seventh among all-rounders.
Bangladesh pacers also got rewarded for their consistency in the Test series.
Hasan Mahmud leapfrogged 16 places to sit in the 57th position with 367 rating points, while Taskin Ahmed jumped 11 places to stay in the 85th position with 264 rating points.
Young pedigree Nahid Rana, who hogged the limelight with his express pace, progressed 23 places to 97th with 225 rating points.
