Bangladesh's interim government information and broadcasting adviser Nahid Islam on Thursday said that the government had the responsibility to look after the families of the people who were killed during the students-led mass uprising.
‘We achieved a new Bangladesh through the bloodshed of students and mass people during the revolution,’ he said during a meeting at his office with the family members of Md Ramzan Ali, who was killed at Baipal.
The adviser enquired about the family of Ramzan Ali and pledged to provide monthly allowances to all families of those killed during the uprising.
Father and sister of Ramzan Ali were present at the meeting.
It is mentionable that Shaheed Ramzan, a graduate student at Singra in Natore, was killed on August 5 after the police opened fire on people indiscriminately.
