The Revolutionary Workers Party of Bangladesh, a partner of the Ganatantra Mancha, said that it wanted to establish rights of workers and the working class people during rule of the interim government.

Speaking at a meeting of central representatives of the Biplabi Sramik Samhati on Friday at the party central office at Segun Bagicha, Saiful Huq, general secretary of the party, said that the workers and working class people had played significant roles in the recent movement of the student and people.


As a result of the movement, the Sheikh Hasina鈥檚 government was ousted on August 5 and Hasina fled to India, Saiful Huq said.

Saiful Huq called on the interim government to take steps to resolve demands of the workers and working class people who played prominent roles in the recent student-led mass movement.

He also called on the interim government to form an Election Commission for holding the next general election in a free, fair and credible manner.

Chaired by president of the organisation Mir Mofazzel Hossain Mostaq, the meeting was addressed, among others, by central leaders Shahidul Alam Nannu and Abul Kalam Azad.
